Prepared For: The City of Prince Albert
Location: Prince Albert, SK

The purpose of this project was to establish a land use plan for the City of Prince Albert. The project involved taking existing studies, master plans & community feedback and incorporate it into an official land use plan. The project focused on mapping to help identify Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities & Threats (SWOT). The SWOT map was then used to understand the issues and make recommendations based on strong land use planning and urban design principles. In addition to the mapping component, SPD was also asked to incorporate and update existing master plans into the Official Community Plan. The master plan updates followed strong land use planning & urban design principles.

The final piece of the project was to show what the implementation of the land use plan could look like. The implementation focused on three key areas: the riverfront, downtown, and the highway corridor. 3D models and images illustrated how to create great places using the land use plan, and how to implement them.
