Client: The City of Revelstoke
Year: 2010-2012

From 2010 to 2012 SPD developed and organized a draft form-based zoning bylaw. The new bylaw integrated the existing zoning designations with newly developed form-based zoning standards into one complete bylaw. The primary work on this project involved:

Converting existing transect-based zoning document into a UDB

Designing, developing and creating a draft document for the UDB

Integrating existing development-related bylaws into a UDB format

Incorporating existing zoning designations into a transect-based zoning system

Aligning current uses with zones and develop a use chart specific to each zone

Developing graphics for transect zones, streetscape standards, frontage, and building types

Incorporating definitions from all integrated bylaws into a single definition section

Providing guidance to staff on the use of InDesign

The draft document is currently under staff review.
