Client: The Cabin
The facade, sign and patio design concept were developed to help the Cabin submit a Development Permit Application that would meet the requirements of the Downtown Development Permit Area Requirements. The owners wanted to use wood in the design and they wanted to highlight the unique shape of the building first developed as a “Moderne” style. The design maintains the curved shape of the building while integrating a concrete panel design with a cedar siding system. The owners wanted to see the development of a patio for their liquor-primary establishment that could attract more residents and visitors to the block on First Street. The sign design featured a cutout metal sign lit from above and acts to draw people to the business. The facade and sign designs were implemented in 2011. The patio design is expected to be implemented shortly.
