The New Denver Resilience Action Plan (NDRAP) was completed as Endemic Mountain Design, in collaboration with Have Blue Consulting and Design Ltd. The Government of British Columbia requires municipalities that signed on to the BC Climate Action Charter to complete an Integrated Community Sustainability Plan in order to continue to receive funding from the BC Gas Tax Revenue. We found that focusing on sustainability was not enough when considering the possible impacts of Peak Oil and Climate Change. Concentrating instead on making the Village more resilient took advantage of opportunities and provided more clear actions to be undertaken.

The recommendations in the report focused on short-term, mid-term, and long-term actions the Village of New Denver could undertake to increase their resilience. These recommendations included localizing industry and food production, celebrating local culture and expertise, areas in which the Village could reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The timeline prioritized decisions, based on ease and importance, and used efficiencies to identify long-term goals.

The NDRAP was adopted in April, 2010.
